The Dare city pavilion is located in an existing city. It is always open for the public to enter. You can enter with more people or as an individual. The concept of The Dare pavilion is to make people dare more in their lives. By visiting the dare pavilion the challenge is to experience the space and by this reflect on yourself.
You can see the Dare pavilion as a point where first you are hesitant to enter. You walk past it and observe people on the pavilion. You wait and watch the reactions when people walk out. It makes you curious and you want to find out what will happen. When you enter it is you life changing experience. From a distance the pavilion has an unstable look. The walls are under an angle and it doesn’t feel safe to walk underneath or close to the building. The ground floor is where you walk on a metal plate from light to a dark tunnel. You hear your footsteps echoing around you. On the background you hear a constant dripping of water on the metal plate. When you reached the dark tunnel you walk up the wired metal steps where from underneath you can only see the footsteps of the people walking on it. When you are on the first floor you see a graphic of two meters wide. First you can’t read it but if you look closer you read: beware! You are hesitant and feel little because of the huge graphics. When you climb up you have a view over the city. You have to turn around and enter a dark space. Your vision is gone. At a certain point you are instable and the floor is moving. You feel disorientated. You don’t know what to expect when you take the next step. You are searching for grip but cant find it.
The statement of the Dare city pavilion is to take your life to the next step. The pavilion is not like an atrachtion but something that adds to your life. With entering this paviolion your life becomes more exiting because you are pushed by yourself to challange your own life. The experience you had in the pavilion was scary, daring, challanging, thrilling, beautifull, exhousting and all this aspects you take with you. You want to experience this thrill again and try to find this in your life.
